The National Monument

Blogging, colour, urban

It’s been a while since I posted. Between the weather and family commitments, I just haven’t had much scope to get out. This one is from last year. The National Monument of Scotland on Calton Hill Edinburgh. It was intended to be a monument to soldiers from Scotland during the Napoleonic Wars – but was never finished. It is therefore often called Scotland’s or Edinburgh’s Disgrace. As disgraces go, it has a pleasant aesthetic!
